I received this from Denise...(Thanx Denise!)...and I really felt it worth passing on. It talks about the things I deem important. Hanging in there,

feeling we are worth the effort, and actually making lifestyle changes. Author is unknown.

"Remember when your parents or grandparents used to tell you 'Practice makes perfect.' ?

Maybe it's not perfection you are seeking, but no matter what you are looking to change,

pactice really is the key to making it stick.

Bad habits do not instantly become part of yor daily life. Any habit, whether bad or good, is a habit

because you practiced and practiced and practiced until it became second nature. It's no wonder trying to change

a behavior is difficult.

The next time you are staring at the vending machine, or facing aisles and aisles of unhealthy food in the grocery store,

think about this: Making the right choice takes practice. It's not easy. It even feels off at first, like a former tobacco user

feeling lost without a cigarette. But anyone who has changed and not just survived, but succeeded, will tell you it's worth it.

YOU ARE WORTH IT! And once you practice and pratice a good habit it too will become second nature and will no longer

be the struggle it might be today.

Hang in there, whatever it is you're hoping to accomplish in 2012. Don't give up! We won't give up on you!"

I know we go through this every year, but seriously...it is soooo important. PLAN! It is the basis for your SUCCESS! And planning reaches all corners of your weight loss journey. Thinking, shopping, eating, activity, vacations, days off, parties...YIKES! the list goes on and on. But you can see what I mean. And the more you PLAN the more control you have. That simple. I know planning takes time, but isn't it worth it? Surely there is sometime in your week where you can take paper and pencil and plan a few meals, time for activity, shopping list. If you use your smart phone you always have it with you and can do it at any spare minute. This week concentrate on that all important 4 letter word: PLAN. Short and sweet...

We have a week of 2012 under our belt. This is OUR year to . In ourselves, our goals and our plans. What do you have planned for your weight loss journey this year? What steps are you WILLING to take to get there? Take a minute and actually write down something you are willing to do to move your weight loss forward this week. Make it doable and reasonable. Keep it where you can see it and see how well it works. Then next week write something else down and VOILA' ! Next thing you know you are where you want to be. How awesome is that? You can do this. Flexibility...TWITA!

Last week the new tweaks to the PointPlus Plan were unveiled. I don't know about you but as a member I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! If you have been with Weight Watchers anytime at all you know they are always looking for ways to make the Plan MORE liveable. They have done it again! If you can't live with it you won't do it. That is why I constantly tell you to make the plan your own. Make it fit your lifestyle. That is the only way to be successful. That being said the new stuff is so great. You can flex your DPT for vacation, the holidays. What this does is help you to stay in control!!! Rather than throw caution to the wind for a few weeks you can adjust your DPT to give you a more comfortable DPT that you will be able to live with for a while and still keep up your dicipline of staying on Plan. How cool is that? Maybe you don't like what you are seeing at the scale recently...OK...lower your DPT for a while (start by lowering it 1- 3 PPV per day for a week or 2 and see how it goes). I am not talking about a day to day thing...you have your Weekly PP Allowance for that. For more info talk to your Leader. We also have new Power Start sessions after the meetings to get you going. There are 3 of them over a 3 week period and they are awesome. Maybe you want to stay for those and get remotivated. You can do it anytime. And research shows us that members that get off to a good, strong start are more likely to succeed. TWITA! (That's What I'm Talking About!)

This week is a biggie. Weight Watchers is launching the changes to PointsPlus...WELCOME Points Plus 2012!

It will add even more flexibility to your life. The more flexible and liveable the program the more likely we are to stick with it.

When we join Weight Watchers we have to make it fit our lifestyle and not us fit into what we think WW is. It matters not your lifestyle...evening eater, grazer, volume eater, 3 squares a day eater. Whatever it is WW will fit and WORK! But YOU have to make it happen. Use the tools you get from your meetings, other members, etools. You will on your way to a successful weight loss journey AND healthier lifestyle FOR LIFE! How awesome is that? So be at your meeting this week for the changes and the new info. If you are not a member NOW IS THE TIME! Make 2012 your Year of Health! It's a win-win deal!

Tool Time again! Get out the old tool belt and USE them! This is what will get you through the holidays with the least stress and the most success.. By now you know which ones work and which ones don't in each situation. It's usually no secret or surprise what is going to stress you...or who...just sayin'...Think NOW about what you can do to ease that stress. Actually make a list of what you an do because if you wait until it strikes you will fall into the old habit of comfort and stress relief, better known as FOOD. So make the list now and post it somewhere you can get to it when you need. And it doesn't matter what it is, just that it works for you. Maybe it's a walk around the block..Perk there is Activity PPVs! How awesomeis that at this critical time!

Thursday is Turkey Day. By now you are ready. You have a plan...right?

PLAN...that all important 4 letter word that can make all the difference in your weight loss journey. Without a plan you are blowing in the wind and at the mercy of "whatever". NOPE NOPE NOPE! That will NEVER do! Lets look at this again:

Participate in your own journey. Take ownership and be the one making the decisions.

Learn from your past experiences...what worked...what didn't.

Ask for help...you will be surprised who WANTS to help...LET THEM!

New...YUP. Time to step outside your zone of comfort and be willing try new stuff. Recipes. Activity. Friends.

Simple as that. You have 3 choices about where you want to be after T-Day weight-wise. Up-Down-Same.

Move more...what the heck does that mean you ask...? Well if you didn't move a second yesterday then 5 minutes today is MORE!

You have to start somewhere...sometime. Why not today? There is somewhere in your day you CAN add some movement or (dare I say ?) activity.

You just have to be willing to look for it. Hmm...how about your TV time? Research says the average adult watches 5 hours of TV a day. And for every 30 minutes of programing there are 7 minutes of commercial time. You can do a lot of good in 7 minutes. So why not start with that? The commercial time on your shows. NOw: What can you do in front of the TV? The is list is long and includes stuff you can do NOW without running out and buying a bunch of stuff. Leg lifts, crunches, push-ups, run/walk in place, arm weights using cans from the pantry or water filled milk containers. See? You can get started NOW! So the only question is how determined are you to DO THIS?

SCALE SURPRISE. Nope! Don't want it...don't need it...NOPE! So what can you do to make weigh-in more constant? What do you have control over each week at the scale?

I am not talking about what you eat all week, although you DO have control over that. But little things can make a difference...

1. Do you have a weigh in outfit? Try wearing the same outfit each week when you weigh in. That's a constant you can control!

2. If you drink 16 ounces of fluid just before weigh-in it is going to weigh-in with you!

3. SALT: Salt makes most of us retain water...hence a weight gain at the scale. Watch the salt the day or so before weigh-in.

These are a few simple things we can control each week and really make sense. Anything else you can think of? Try it and share it with us!

I know I talk a lot about TOOLS but TOOLS are what we need to collect on our weight loss journey to make it work. Imagine yourself holding a pipe cleaner. Bend it in to whatever you want...heart, balloon, stick man...whatever you want. That's Weight Watchers! YUP! The pipecleaner is Weight Watchers. It represents the tools you collect at your meetings to use on your weight loss journey. We all start with the same tools. By bending the pipecleaner into what you want you are making Weight Watchers YOURS! That's the secret!!! You have to make your weight loss journey one YOU can live with, that fits with YOUR life style...or it isn't going to work as a life style change for the rest of your life. Have your Tool Belt full and ready so you have the right tool when you need it. You don't always need the same one. You need a variety and that's what Weight Watchers gives you.

Do you need a HAZMAT suit to go in your kitchen? Is there stuff on the shelves that you have no recollection of bringing in?...hmm...that only means one thing...TIME TO MAKE A CLEAN SWEEP! Roll up your sleeves and start picking and sorting. Recognize what will help you stay on plan and what won't. Replace the stuff that gets in your way...that are your RED light foods. TOOLS! That is what this is all about. What tools do you have in your belt to help you in you weight loss journey? And what ones are you using?
