Reading a menu can cause a headache if you aren't savvy about the "codes" they use. Some are obvious...creamed, sauteed,au gratin, etc. But did you think about boiled? Boiled in what? At home we know that means boiled in water only. But at a restaurant it might mean boiled with butter or with a ham hock. Grilled at home means dry grilled. At a restaurant could mean in oil or butter. Granted, grilled chicken is probably going to be less PPVs than fried, but we want to make our decision's on ordering using the best information we can get so what do we do? Ask for help! Tell them what you want. Ask your Wait Person what the item is grilled/boiled/sauteed in. Then make your decision. Simple as that. YOU are in charge of your Weight Loss Journey and that starts with taking ownership of what is happening. It's your responsibility to know what is in your food so you can track correctly. Are you ready to de-code the menu at your favorite restaurant? Of course you are...so get out there and tell 'em what you want so you can enjoy your meal and know you are ON PLAN!
